I would like to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about why I started a blog. My name is Rebecca Lorain Jacobs. I am also know, in the online world as Bec Wine Chick. When I was contemplating a name for my blog I chose the name that I have been using online for a few years. My family and friends call me Bec. My sister and I used to own a restaurant called The Wine Cottage Bistro and we were known as the Wine Sisters and individually as Wine Chicks. So the name just kind of stuck, Bec Wine Chick.
I write about all the cool things I see, do, and experience on the Central Coast

I have always been interested in writing. As a young girl I would write stories all the time and give them to my parents. Later, when I was a young adult, I created a family newsletter called, The Reese Rambler. It was a collection of who was doing what in the family, babies being born, and relatives getting married. I even included a swap column for anyone who had item to get rid of that they wanted to trade. I loved writing it, especially the investigative side of telling the story of my grandparents or others in the family that I didn’t know as well as I ended up knowing.
Then life happened. I got married, had two sons, and was busy being a mom and wife. I lost touch with my writing. I took a few classes at the local college where I had to do a lot of writing and it rekindled my desire. Now the social media world makes it really easy to spew out words that have some significance and meaning to the writer but may or may not have any meaning to the reader. I hope that my blogs will touch a cord in my readers. I know for certain that my husband, Danny, will read them. I hope others will too.
My blog will focus on the things that are important to me at the moment. I love to wine, dine, and explore the area that I live, California Central Coast. I also love to hike, run, garden, and read. My blogging will focus on all those subjects. Right at the moment, because of the shelter in place (SIP), ordinance, I have been into gardening, sustainability, bio-dynamics, and regenerative farming. I have visited a biodynamic farm, Dare 2 Dream Farm in Lompoc, CA, and will work on the farm this week. My first blog will focus on the farming operations and my experience working on the farm. I hope you will enjoy it. I am a little nervous about working out there but I will post pictures and let you all know how it went.

Awesome! We live in a beautiful area and I’m sure you will have some wonderfully written pieces. I look forward to following your blog Bec!
